Communications and other related courses such as journalism are the most popular courses most Miss Universe contestants take, base on information available on the Miss Universe Pageant website.
It's not surprising since beauty pageants require candidates to be creative, spontaneous and have good verbal communication skills.
The majority of contestants took arts-stream courses. There are however a few candidates who took STEM courses. Among the 80 contestants, one has a master's degree in forensic psychology and two contestants are medical doctors. Interestingly, one candidate is taking up aviation at a flying school.
