Hey, It’s OK To Be Rejected

I have been rejected so many times that until now it is my biggest fear. I can still remember how depressed I was when my college application was turned down by a top university. Imagine how the word NO turned my world upside down
But there are really things - no matter how much we have prepared - will always be out of our control. Overtime, I realised that rejection is not always bad, sometimes, it is actually okay. Here are the reasons why:
Rejection Or Redirection?
While my application to pursue a film course was denied, I was surprised that it led me to a greater purpose. I ended up taking Journalism and was able to work with top television networks. In addition, I was able to touch lives which is fulfilling and rewarding at the same time.
The point here is, we may become dismayed when we get rejected. We feel as if we are no longer on track with our goals.
If you think about it, rejection itself is not the problem — it’s the way we perceive it. As we are often blinded by emotions, we cannot see the bright side behind the unfortunate experiences. Look at it on a positive note. It may redirect us towards a greater cause, help us find a new purpose, as well as a chance to re-evaluate ourselves.
Rejection has nothing to do with self-worth. Do not lose yourself because you were turned down. Instead, be the person who can grow out of it. Rejection is a process which has to be learned the hard way. Do not be disappointed that you get rejected as the real disappointment is when you give up, without even trying.
