Moore Theological College

Since 1856, Moore College has been providing in-depth theological training in order to prepare men and women as thoroughly and effectively as possible for Christian ministry and mission. Based on the Sydney campus at Newtown and providing the ministers for the Anglican Church in Sydney and training pastors who serve other denominations, Moore College’s vision is evangelical and international. The College’s role is expanding. There are enormous opportunities for outreach, church planting and fresh theological course development in new and emerging nations.

Students come to study from a wide range of church and cultural contexts, for enrolment in diploma, graduate and postgraduate courses. In turn, graduates serve in Australia, South-East Asia, China, Africa, Europe and South America

All single students are expected to reside in College for the duration of their course. The residences available for single students are Carillon House and John Chapman House. Married students may apply to live in houses on College campuses, at Newtown, Croydon Park and North Parramatta where available. A minimum of two years residence is normally expected of married students unless exceptional circumstances apply and subject to housing availability. Exiting students must not vacate College houses until the end of the academic year. Students requesting concession to live out on compassionate grounds should consult the Dean of Students. 

Moore College has established three centres which provide a way of resourcing Christian men and women both inside and outside the College community in specific areas of Christian life and ministry.

Moore Theological College is located in Sydney, Australia.

The Knox Lecture Theatre is located at the Moore College campus in Newtown.

Our public events will generally be held in the Broughton Knox Teaching Centre, located at 15 King Street. It can be accessed from King Street, Newtown.
