ON CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION
The University provides almost 1,000 beds in five residences; Edwards Hall, Evatt House, International House and a motel-type residence called Barahineban on the Callaghan Campus plus Blue Gum House on the Central Coast Campus. You can choose between catered, semi-catered or self-catered accommodation.For more information on living on campus visit Accommodation Services.

OFF CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION
If you do not wish to live on-campus, the University offers assistance in finding off-campus accommodation. We have a database of off-campus accommodation where you will find a variety of off-campus options.

TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION
International students who are intending to live off-campus generally choose to stay somewhere temporarily (approximately 3 – 10 days) while they source more permanent housing.

HOMESTAY
Homestay is a popular choice of accommodation for international students, providing the opportunity to live in a home environment while studying at the University.

Families offering homestay provide a friendly environment where students have the opportunity to practice language skills and form new friendships.

Our fantastic sporting facilities include a 50m indoor heated pool, an 18m climbing wall (the second highest in Australia), a fully equipped gymnasium, martial arts/aerobic studios and two competition indoor courts.

NEWCASTLE CAMPUS AT CALLAGHAN
The Newcastle campus is 12 km from the Newcastle CBD and comprises high-tech laboratories and teaching facilities across 140 hectares of bushland.

NEWCASTLE CITY PRECINCT
Our Newcastle City precinct comprises University House, home of the Graduate School of Business and the University of Newcastle Legal Centre, and the Conservatorium of Music. It will soon be the home of our state-of-the-art NeW Space facility.

CENTRAL COAST CAMPUS AT OURIMBAH
On the Central Coast of NSW, the multi-sector Central Coast campus (Ourimbah) offers University, TAFE and community college programs.

PORT MACQUARIE CAMPUS
On the mid-north coast of NSW, the multi-sector Port Macquarie campus offers University nursing, teaching and foundation studies courses and TAFE programs.

SINGAPORE
The University of Newcastle teaches more than 1500 students in Singapore in association with its partner institutions – PSB Academy and BCA Academy.

SYDNEY
At Bathurst Street in the centre of Sydney, the University offers postgraduate studies in business and professional accounting, and English language studies.

ORANGE
Located on the central tablelands of NSW in Orange is the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health.

The University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health operates from various locations in northern NSW.

SMOKE-FREE CAMPUSES AT UON
In order to maintain a healthy environment all campuses will be smoke-free, except for designated smoking areas, from 1 July 2014.

Newcastle campus is located 12 kilometres north west of Newcastle CBD. Entrances are located on University Drive, Callaghan.

Callaghan is well serviced by both bus and train services and has excellent access to the F3 Freeway.

Newcastle itself is a lively port city on a breathtaking stretch of Australia's coastline. The city boasts wonderful beaches, a favourable climate, a casual lifestyle, proximity to Sydney and is also one of the city rated in the Top 10 cities in the world to visit by Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2011.

The University of Newcastle's main campus at Callaghan is only 12 kilometres from beaches and the heart of Newcastle.
