About University of Nottingham Ningbo China

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. Established in 2004, with the full approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education, the university is run by The University of Nottingham with cooperation from Zhejiang Wanli Education Group, a key player in the education sector in China.

The university offers degree programmes from The University of Nottingham, taught in English, which are subject to the same quality assurance processes as in the UK. The University of Nottingham is in the top one percent of more than 7,500 higher education institutions worldwide and league tables consistently rank the University highly. With campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia, Nottingham is a world-class university with a truly global perspective.

Campus information

The university is set in a leafy suburb in the Yinzhou district of Ningbo, Zhejiang province, on China's east coast. The university's 144 acre secure campus is located in the Ningbo Higher Education Park and features many attractive spaces. Lush planting, rivers and lakes attract many different types of birds and wildlife and the university has its own version of the Trent Building, complete with clock tower.

Students can get into the centre of Ningbo with the multiple bus routes that pass by the campus. A single bus journey to Tianyi Square, in the heart of Ningbo, will cost two CNY and take about 45 minutes. A thriving port and business city, Ningbo is well located for Shanghai, with high-speed rail links connecting to the two cities in around two hours.
