Through a dynamic combination of academic coursework and hands-on training, students enrolled in SEGi University’s Certificate in Hotel Operations programme gain both in-depth theoretical knowledge and essential practical experience. Academically, students will explore fundamental hospitality concepts, covering key areas such as food fundamentals, hygiene standards, basic accounting, and restaurant service management theory. These core subjects provide a strong foundation for understanding the complexities of hotel and hospitality operations.  

Beyond the classroom, students will transition into a real-world hospitality environment through the programme’s work-based learning component at Resorts World Genting. This invaluable experience allows students to engage directly with the daily operations of a world-class resort, applying their academic knowledge in key areas such as front office management, housekeeping, customer service management, and food production. Additionally, students will gain hands-on expertise in restaurant service and basic pastry creation. The programme culminates in an industry internship, offering students firsthand exposure to the fast-paced and diverse hospitality sector.  

Upon successfully completing SEGi University’s Certificate in Hotel Operations, graduates can further their studies by enrolling in the Diploma in Hotel Management or an equivalent qualification, paving the way for more advanced career opportunities in the hospitality industry.
