About
UCSI University’s one-year Foundation in Arts (Built Environment) programme is designed to prepare future professionals for these emerging opportunities. This integrated and cross-disciplinary programme offers a strong foundation in built environment-specific subjects, providing a seamless transition into degree specialisations such as architecture, interior architecture, or quantity surveying. With innovative teaching methods led by distinguished academics, visiting professors, and industry experts, students will develop essential subject knowledge, creative and critical thinking, and study skills. Through UCSI’s strong industry ties, students gain early exposure to real-world experiences, collaborating on community and industrial projects alongside seniors and leading industry players in a supportive and creative learning environment.

Academic Requirements
Any one of these:

SPM / O-levels: 5 credits (inclusive of Math for Architecture pathway)

UEC: 3 credits (inclusive of Math for Architecture pathway)

Other qualifications: Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
English Requirements
Exempted from SE004 Basic English and SE005 English Foundation if candidates meet one of the following:
- UEC English Language: Grade A2
- MUET: Band 2
- TOEFL: 30-31
- IELTS: 4.0
- O-Level/IGCSE/SPM English 1119: Grade C
- CEFR: B1 (with at least 2 skills at B1)
- Cambridge English Qualification: 140
- Cambridge Linguaskill: 140
- Pearson Test: 36
- Other equivalent qualifications may be exempted on a case-by-case basis.
Candidates who score lower than B+ in SPM English Language or below the above requirements must take the SE004 Basic English subject before proceeding to the SE005 English Foundation subject in the foundation year.
