Entry Requirements
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS from non-authorised test centres: 7.5 overall, minimum 7.0 in any band
- GCE A-level English: B
- GCE AS-level English: A
- TOEFL Internet based iB: 109 minimum 25 any part, 29 in writing
- Pearson's PTE (Academic): 73 overall, minimum 64 in any band and 70 in writing
- Cambridge CAE (Certificate in Advanced English): B, no less than good in all elements
- Cambridge CAE and CPE: 191 overall, no less than 185 in all elements
- Cambridge Overseas School Certificate (COSC): Grade 1

First year
- Biochemistry 1
- Biological Chemistry
One of the following options:
- Anatomical Science
- Biology
- Mathematics
- Microbiology
- Pathology

Second year
- Biochemistry 2: Organisation and Communication in Cells plus Energy and Motion in Cells
- Molecular Genetics: Recombinant DNA Technology plus Gene Expression and Rearrangement
- Biomedical Research, Employability and Enterprise Skills
One of the following options:
- Cellular and Molecular Pathology
- Infection and Immunity
- Mathematics
- Pharmacology
- Physiology
- Other subjects such as language units, may also be taken with the agreement of the department
Third year
You will cover a wide range of topics at an advanced level, with the emphasis on current developments. You will study the following lecture-based units:
- Advanced Cell Biology
- The Dynamic Proteome
- Cellular Information
- Advanced Options in Biochemistry.
You will also study the Core Skills unit including two pieces of independent project work: the practical project and the literary project.
