Entry Requirements
- A Level: Must include passes at A2 in at least one subject.
- BTEC: Extended Diploma (QCF) or Diploma (QCF)
- International Baccalaureate: Diploma with 24 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level.
- Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the university.
English Language Qualifications:
- Overall IELTS score of 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking (or recognised equivalent).
Curriculum
This course will help you develop the skills you need for the world of work. We’ll give you the practical training and theoretical knowledge you need to succeed in architectural design technology.
You’ll learn about the role of the architectural technologist, exploring the ways in which you’ll be working with surveyors, construction managers, planners and others to make a distinctive contribution to successful projects. You’ll also study a whole range of buildings from historic to contemporary to broaden your knowledge.
We’ll guide you through the key principles of the construction industry, including the physical and financial appraisal of buildings, relevant legal principles, how to manage resources, documents and data as well as project management and the fundamentals of design.
You’ll produce designs using industry-standard IT and software, applying your skills to solve problems. As you learn to analyse and evaluate technological information and data, you’ll be expected to produce drawings, visualisations and models for specific tasks.
You’ll also be expected to present your work with a commentary, often working as part of a team to replicate real-life working practices. It’s all about make you industry-ready.
