Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biotechnology
About
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary program designed to equip students with science-driven knowledge and skills applicable across various fields of biotechnology. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge in biotechnology. During the second and third years, they explore diverse sectors such as medical biotechnology, virology, food technology, bioinformatics, metabolomics, environmental biotechnology, cell and tissue culture, genetic engineering, aquaculture, crop biotechnology, and forensic science.
The program includes a final-year research project with a dissertation, fostering analytical skills, time management, and independent work. Additionally, students undertake a 12-week internship at the end of their third year, offering hands-on experience in an industry of their choice, either locally or internationally. This comprehensive approach prepares graduates for dynamic roles in the biotechnology sector.
