MSc Petroleum Engineering

About

The MSc in Petroleum Engineering is a series of lectures and project work that covers a wide variety of petroleum engineering basics relevant to the current petroleum industry. Project work allows students to apply ideas and methods learnt in lectures and tutorials to real-world field assessment and development design difficulties.
The courses are practical in character and have been intended to ensure that graduates are technically well-equipped for and have a thorough understanding of the industry into which they will be recruited.
These courses offer specialised education geared to the needs of the upstream petroleum industry. The applicability of this education, combined with rigorous candidate selection, has attracted oil and oilfield service businesses to recruit graduates from Heriot-Watt over the years.
