Master in Management (By Research)

The Master of Management program at Lincoln University College is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in research methodology and analytical skills necessary for conducting rigorous research in the field of management. Through this program, students will develop both quantitative and qualitative research skills, enabling them to investigate complex management issues and contribute to academic literature.

The curriculum is designed to offer students ample opportunities to engage in extensive research on various management topics, allowing them to delve deep into areas of interest and explore new avenues of inquiry. Emphasis is placed on preparing students to produce high-quality empirical and theoretical research that meets the standards of leading business journals.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be well-equipped to pursue careers as researchers in academic institutions, think tanks, consulting firms, or other organizations where advanced research skills are valued. They will have the necessary expertise to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge in the field of management through their research endeavors.

1. A Bachelor’s degree [Level 6, Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF)] in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 as accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate; OR
2. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75 can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment*, OR
3. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience** and rigorous internal assessment*; OR
4. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate subject to having relevant working experience** and rigorous internal assessment*; OR
5. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting 2.50 as accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate subject to a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience** and rigorous internal assessment*; OR
6. A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate and without relevant working experience subject to passing pre-requisite courses***; OR
7. Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor Degree (Level 6, MQF) recognized by the Malaysian Government.

International students are required to achieve a minimum Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) OR equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (Mid B2)****.

*Rigorous assessment to evaluate the suitability of an applicant for a program through statement of purpose, interview and other methods may cover the following criteria:

1. Demonstration of strong business experience, and that you have held significant managerial responsibilities.
2. Evidence of any achievements in your professional life, for example, consistently performing at a high level, consistent career progression and any impact that you have had on your organization.
3. Professional skills that you have developed, for example, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, negotiating, and analytical skills.
4. How you will contribute to your class and what experiences you can bring to the institution.

**Experience can be cumulative experience even before acquiring required qualification for a particular level of study. However, the experience must be relevant to the level of study as well as the content.

***The pre-requisite courses must equip the students with necessary business knowledge (managing people, managing financial resources, understanding customers, understanding environments and strategic planning) of one level lower than the program level.
