About
The BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture is an exciting programme designed for students who seek to become innovative interior architecture professionals of the 21st century. Spanning a period of 3 and 1/2 years, you will engage in various aspects of design for interior environments and develop skills which enable you to contribute to the profession with creativity and confidence.
The programme of study takes place in a broad range of learning environments, beginning with studio experience which engages you in the fundamentals of design process and thinking, allowing knowledge and skill-development in the practice of designing interactions between people and interior spaces. You will be exposed to a balanced mixture of theoretical and practical subjects such as design practice, modelling, drawing, furniture design, and sustainable design. A keen sense of design coupled with communication skills and the ability to utilise the latest technology, will equip you for a career in any field of design.
You will also experience an immersive learning environment in the real world during the 6-month industrial placement programme. This programme has been developed according to the guidelines of the Board of Architects Malaysia (Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia, LAM).
On successful completion of the programme, graduates will also be awarded a degree from Lancaster University. They will be awarded two certificates, making them graduates of both Sunway University and Lancaster University.

Specific Requirement for Certain International Students
International students from certain countries that want to take some Sunway University degree programmes (for example programmes in partnership with Lancaster University) will need to take and pass our online six-month International Preparatory Programme (IPP). This is a requirement to enrol on a Sunway degree programme that also leads to a degree certificate awarded by Sunway’s partner institution. Students are required to pass all the subjects with grade C or above to progress to the degree.

Why is a Portfolio Necessary?
A portfolio provides some indication of your ability in design and allows us to assess your creative potential.
What should a Portfolio contain?
A portfolio should contain 5 - 15 examples of your own original creative work. Its purpose is to demonstrate how you express your concepts through media. Any form of media is acceptable. Photographs, drawings and 3-D work will be accepted as digital photographs. For media work, links to streaming sites such as Vimeo, YouTube or SoundCloud are acceptable. Otherwise, Video files must be H.264 QuickTime file. Games or other applications must be playable on both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.

- IELTS or equivalent 6.0
Note: Any other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
*Sunway Diploma holders may obtain advanced standing if credit transfer requirements are met.
