Taylor's University has a variety of linkages with UK universities, ranging from short-term mobility options to dual degrees and to research. There are over 3,000 students enrolled in UK dual degree offerings in the areas of Business, Communication and IT at Taylor's University, and these degrees are all offered on the Lakeside campus in partnership with the University of the West of England (UWE). For those students who want to go overseas, then Taylor's also offers a wide range of international articulation opportunities that typically requires one of two years of study in the UK. For example, students in the Taylor's Law School students can all articulate into the last year of one of six UK partner institutions (such as the University of Sheffield) to complete their LLB. Whereas in the School of Engineering, students can articulate over to the University of Birmingham to complete their final two-years. Some students only want to spend a semester overseas, and for these students we offer a number of exchange opportunities with institutions such as Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). Students can spend one semester in the UK as part of their course of studies – and it also affords a British student the opportunity to come to Malaysia. Finally we also offer some short–term mobility opportunities where students spend 2-3 weeks in the UK.
To better understand these many links with the UK, we were recently pleased to host a delegation from the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. The delegation included Mr. Paul Rennie, the Deputy British High Commissioner, Mr. Siva Somasundram, Senior Trade Manager for UK Trade & Investment, and Fiona Louis, Asst. Trade Manager for Education & Skills came to the Lakeside Campus. To find out more about the global study options at Taylor's University click here.
