Why Study Computer Science?

This program provides students with technical expertise and a solid academic foundation in computing. The curriculum includes:

• Programming & Software Design – Develop coding and system development skills
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning – Explore intelligent systems and automation
• Computer Security & Web Technology – Learn cybersecurity principles and web development
• Mobile Computing & Computational Mathematics – Gain expertise in mobile applications and mathematical modeling

In addition to the Single Award, UOW Malaysia offers a Dual Award program in collaboration with the University of Wollongong, Australia. This unique program enables students to earn two degree awards—one from UOW Australia and one from UOW Malaysia—providing a gateway to global career opportunities.

Academic Qualification

• STPM:

  • 2 Principal Passes in any 2 subjects and Credit at SPM level or equivalent in:
    • Additional Mathematics or
    • Mathematics and any 1 subject in Science, Technology, or Engineering
      OR
  • 2 Principal Passes (Science Stream) with:
    • 1 Mathematics subject and
    • 1 subject in Science/ICT

• GCE A Levels:

  • 2 Principal Passes in any 2 subjects and Credit at SPM level or equivalent in:
    • Additional Mathematics or
    • Mathematics and any 1 subject in Science, Technology, or Engineering

• UEC:

  • 5 Credits including Mathematics and a Science/ICT subject

• Foundation/Matriculation:

  • Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and Credit at SPM level or equivalent in:
    • Additional Mathematics or
    • Mathematics and any 1 subject in Science, Technology, or Engineering

• Australian Matriculation/Foundation:

  • ATAR score of 55

• Diploma:

  • Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.50

English Requirement

• Local Student:

  • Band 2 in MUET

• International Student:

  • Band 5.0 in IELTS
  • Minimum score of 40 (IBT) or 7.5 (Essentials-Online) in TOEFL
