Utrecht University is situated in the city Utrecht. Utrecht is a lively city in the geographical centre of the Netherlands. The university consists of seven faculties:
The University is situated at three different locations in Utrecht. The two large faculties of Humanities and Law are situated in the inner city of Utrecht. The other five faculties and most of the administrative services are located in De Uithof, a campus area on the outskirts of the city. University College is situated in the former Kromhout Kazerne, which used to be a Dutch military base.
By public transport
From Utrecht Central Station take bus 2, exit at Domplein.
By foot (10 minute walk from Utrecht Central Station)
Follow directions to the ‘Museumkwartier’ (Museum Quarter). In the ‘Hoog Catharijne’ shopping mall take the ‘Godebaldkwartier’ exit and continue left towards the Dom Tower. After passing right under the Dom Tower, cross over towards the right. The entrance to the University Hall is right in front.
Utrecht is the most popular university town in the Netherlands, so the demand for student housing is very high. It is therefore absolutely necessary to start looking for accommodation as soon as possible. For exchange students and for international students who enrol in an international degree programme, and who do not yet live in the Netherlands, there ise an agreement between the University and SSH Short Stay. This local housing corporation offers temporary furnished housing.
