SIT’s main campus is located in Invercargill. With around 5,000 students studying on campus and another 8,000 around the country studying via SIT2LRN, SIT is big enough to offer variety and a student culture, yet has small class sizes ensuring plenty of hands-on experience. Campus facilities include:
SIT Queenstown Campus
SIT’s expanding Queenstown Campus (established 2009) is conveniently located in the Remarkables Park Town Centre at Frankton, with the spectacular backdrop of the Remarkables mountain range. Its modern facilities provide an exceptional teaching environment; new purpose built spaces, plenty of natural light, magnificent views, ample parking, and easily accessible by public transport.
SIT Christchurch Campus
SIT Christchurch is a small friendly campus that offers students specialised training in accredited, recognised programmes. Class sizes are small, and enrolment number restricted so that students have greater learning opportunities and personal attention from the tutors.
SIT Gore Campus
SIT’s Gore campus is situated in beautiful grounds and is here to serve the education and training needs of the greater Eastern Southland area. The campus offers a variety of courses designed to provide wider employment opportunities, prepare students for further study or allow them to train while they work.
There are plenty of options for getting to and around the Southland region of Invercargill. It is well-known for its extensive network of open roads with fantastic scenery along the way. Invercargill is flat and easy to get around regardless of transportion choice. A public bus service operates six days a week covering the inner city and outlying suburbs. Invercargill also has many cycling lanes throughout the city. Students will find that no matter where they find themselves around the city, various amenities will be close by and the city centre is always nearby from most locations.
Students of SIT have the options to live with a Kiwi family in a homestay, stay at one of SIT's accomodation options or flat in a private home. The estimated costs for the variety of accomodation options include:
SIT is the home of the 24 week English Scholarship. International students are offered the opportunity to study English for up to 24 weeks for free! They can simply enrol in a mainstream programme for a year or more and they can study for up to 24 weeks English at no extra cost. It’s the best way to get students on their way to the world class future of their dreams.
SIT also provides comprehensive job search assistance, whether for current students or graduates. In addition to regular employment workshops, SIT's dedicated international employment officer offers one-on-one assistance to help then find employment opportunities. SIT's qualifications have strong links to industry, meaning that they will have opportunities to meet with potential employers during the course.
