Curriculum

Year 1: Biological basis of physiotherapy in the promotion of health; psycho social basis of physiotherapy practice; functional analysis and assessment of movement; foundations of human movement; information resources and skills; health and social care settings; musculoskeletal basis of movement; neuroscience basis of movement; theory and practice of moving and handling patients; bases of investigation; resource management in health and social care settings; clinical practice 1 and 2: communication and handling.
Year 2: Physiotherapy practice; exercise therapy; manual therapy; electrotherapy; tools of investigation and evaluation; clinical practice 3: outpatients; clinical practice 4: inpatients; management of professional practice; project proposal; clinical practice 5: option.
Year 3: Physiotherapy practice; clinical practice 6: care of elderly; clinical practice 7: specialist client groups; project; personal and professional development skills; clinical practice 8: rehabilitation. Plus 2 from: manual therapy; enabling independence; palliative care; longevity and well being; children and young adults with special needs.
