Entry Requirements

Entry requirements

  • A UK honours (minimum 2.2) degree in History or a related subject, or equivalent
  • Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent.

The following English language qualifications are also accepted:

  • Cambridge CAE [B]
  • Cambridge CPE [C]
  • GCSE English [C]
  • IGCSE English (as a first or second language) [C]
  • International Baccalaureate (English A or B syllabus or English Literature Standard or Higher level) [Grade 4]
  • AS or A Level English Language or English Literature [A-E]
  • O-level English [C]
  • International Foundation Programmes studied in the UK. We can sometimes accept a certain grade in the English component of the course, usually around 65%.
  • Pearsons Test of English (Academic) 62 with minimum 51 in each skill, and 54 with minimum 51 in each skill for Art and Design practice-based courses.
  • University of Reading (TEEP)
  • Applicants from candidates with non-standard entry qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.
