Curriculum

This distinctive course will give you an insight into the underlying principles of banking and finance in Islam, combining both Western and Islamic views.

This master’s will also provide practical tools and skills to enable you to use financial analysis as a basis for decision-making, thereby enhancing your employability in the sector.

You will study core modules on Islamic banking and financial regulation, key issues in the field and learn research methods and skills in accounting and finance.

The rest of the course comprises an optional module from a choice of four, including Islamic Economics, Applied Quantitative Finance and Financial Risk Management.

You will learn to critically evaluate ideas and will also complete a compulsory 15,000-word dissertation based on a relevant topic of particular interest to you.

Throughout the course you’ll be exposed to the latest thinking, developments, research and literature in this increasingly important field, and learn the qualitative and quantitative analytical skills that are crucial to academic progression and employability.
