Entry Requirements

The normal entry requirements are:

GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above

One A-level, or equivalent vocational A-level in Mathematics or a science based subject at Grade D.

or

Advanced GNVQ pass

or

Edexcel National Awards, or NVQ 3.

or

Advanced Modern Apprenticeship.

or

An Access to HE Diploma full award (Pass of 60 credits - of which a minimum of 45 credits must be at level 3 including 18 at Merit or Distinction) will be accepted.

Mature applicants will be admitted based on relevant experience of working in the civil engineering sector and may be invited to interview to demonstrate their commitment to the course

Relevant work experience will also be considered and may be invited to interview,.

Curriculum

You will be covering fundamental subjects of the civil engineering discipline such as mathematics, structures and design.

You will also study the properties of soils and ground water in a civil engineering context (geotechnics), together with aspects of site surveying and setting-out.

Finally, you will explore the technology of civil engineering and develop knowledge of civil engineering skills by completing group and individual projects.
