About Colby-Sawyer College

Colby-Sawyer College is a private and independent baccalaureate that is in the Lake Sunapee region of New Hampshire. It was established as a coeducational academy in 1837 and offers undergraduate and graduate courses based in liberal arts and sciences. They are designed to help shape students to suit to their future professions and promote ongoing learning. In the College, the faculty, staff, and students all thrive for excellence on the levels of academic, intellectual, and personal aspects.

From 1837, the College was thriving from an academy to engaging in higher education activities and programs in 1928.

Campus information

In Colby-Sawyer College, there are 30 buildings built on a 200-acre land. The infrastructure is mostly designed as a Georgian, brick, colonial architecture. Students their studies in the College, 100 percent of the students enrolled successfully participate in one or more internships in their respective field of study. Learning Portfolios are also created to showcase their ongoing progress and achievement.

Students at Colby-Sawyer College also have to conclude their studies in senior year with a Capstone project, in which they have to build and demonstrate their knowledge in their academic major.

Colby-Sawyer College is located in the beautiful area of New Hampshire; 90 minutes north of Boston, 1 hour south of the White Mountains, and 3.5 hours south of Montreal.
