About College of the Atlantic

Established in 1969, College of the Atlantic is a private college of the liberal arts. It is located in Bar Harbor, Maine. College of the Atlantic enriches the liberal arts tradition through a distinctive educational philosophy which is human ecology.

College of the Atlantic has a single major which is human ecology. However, it will expose you to the world in a comprehensive way and not only a segmented way. College of the Atlantic has a residential life program that fosters a collaborative living environment within a close-knit academic community. The on-campus housing includes both residence halls and houses.

Downtown Bar Harbor is a mile from campus of this college. Acadia National Park is just as close. COA runs a shuttle to and from town several times each evening so that students can easily get to the grocery store, the YMCA or Reel Pizza.
