Campus information

With more than 800 acres of main campus, 8 miles of walkways and jogging trails and 122 buildings on main campus, the University currently serves 23,000 students who are pursuing undergraduate, graduate, specialist, doctoral and certificate degrees in the arts, sciences and professions. In all, more than 300 majors, minors and concentrations are delivered through the University's Colleges of Arts and Sciences; Business; Education; Health and Human Services; Technology, and its graduate school.

The Student Center is the hub of activity on EMU’s campus. Some of the building’s amenities include the campus bookstore, food options, offices for student government and student life, two art galleries, an auditorium, and a ballroom.

Eastern Michigan University is located in historic Ypsilanti, about 10 miles east of Ann Arbor, 40 miles west of Detroit and just 20 minutes from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

 

Accommodation

Living on campus is the best way to make the most of your experience at EMU. As a resident living on campus you will have the opportunity to make your college experience more successful, more memorable, and more enjoyable. Housing & Residence Life provides a welcoming student-centered environment that will be supportive and provide you with necessary tools needed for the future.

Students needing housing during University holiday breaks must select a 'break housing' location that remains open during the entire academic year. During the 2014-2015 academic year, break housing will be available only in the Towers (Hill, Hoyt, Pittman), The Village, and any of our Apartments (Brown/Munson, Cornell Courts, and Westview).
