About Australian Maritime College

Australia's national centre for training, education and research for maritime purposes, the AMC is dedicated to the sea through courses in maritime engineering, marine environment, maritime logistics and seafaring. Students will have the opportunity to join and work for international and Australian organisations as well as individual businesses through AMC.

The AMC adheres to, cooperates with, consults and improves industry, goverment and regulatory standards of maritime practices; from boat patrols of the Australian coastline to Antartica ice research. They have also recently begun studies in the renewable energy sector, mainly tidal energy resource around Australia.

Students will be exposed to the latest in maritime facilities and equipment including ship simulations, training and research vessels, real-time utility usage by government personel and other maritime-related businesses; all under the guidance and tutelage of highly qualified and experienced staff.

The AMC is a specialist instutute of the University of Tasmania. Students will have the opportunity to take collaborative degrees in addition to the maritime courses.
