- Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics plus one of the following equivalent qualifications:
- A Levels (80-100 UCAS points) or equivalent vocational qualification, substantial work experience in any early years setting, or recent academic study at Level 3.
- Entry is welcomed from mature students with relevant experience in place of these qualifications, they may also have the opportunity to re-take Maths and/or English whilst on the Foundation Degree.
The course develops & informs practice, theoretical knowledge & professional development for those working with children or working towards a career in Education, Social Work or in the Early Years. The course is designed around five areas of importance for the early years sector and for those working with young children. These are developmental psychology; sociology and research; inclusive provision and practice; social policy and welfare and interpersonal skills in multi-professional teams.
