Curriculum

By studying Early Childhood with Health Promotion, you’ll be exploring current health issues as they relate to families and children.

Your lecturers in the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience will show you how children’s health can be influenced by the home environment in which they are brought up. This is particularly true in a multicultural area like east London with its vast range of diets, which are themselves the product of a variety of religious and cultural beliefs and customs.

You’ll also learn about the fundamental movement and sports skills that young children need to develop and how social and economic differences can influence this.

The modules you’ll take as part of this fascinating course reflect the range of factors which influence children’s health. They include Critical Practice and Perspectives in Health Promotion, Social Patterns of Health and Illness as well as Issues and Controversies in Early Childhood Development.
