Entry Requirements

  • 3 Scottish Highers at grade C or above

OR

  • 2 A levels at grade C or above 
  • You will also need to have Standard Grade/ GCSE English and Mathematics, and be able to demonstrate your commitment to outdoor activities 
  • Applicants with significant experience in outdoor activities will be considered providing they can demonstrate sufficient academic potential. 
  • You will be required to attend an interview Access routes

Curriculum

First Year

Core modules are:

  • Introduction to adventure tourism 
  • Introduction to outdoor pursuits 
  • Adventure industry products 
  • Introduction to coaching and skill acquisition 
  • Work-related learning 
  • Introduction to enterprise and marketing

Option modules include:

  • Personal effectiveness and study skills (recommended if you have been away from studying for some time) 
  • Other modules from tourism, environment and social sciences
Second Year

Core modules are:

  • Understanding adventure 
  • Developing outdoor pursuits 
  • Performance management of adventure tourism 
  • Coaching and adventure leadership 
  • Work-based learning 
  • Small business and planning

Third Year

Core modules are:
